Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is particular on building Telangana martyrs’ memorials in all the 10 districts’ headquarters in the state. The construction of these memorials should be completed by June 2.
It is being planned that a special programme be organised at all the memorials on June 2, Telangana Formation Day, every year, to recall the sacrifice by youths who lost their life for the cause of Telangana.
The government has issued orders on the construction of these memorials and asked the officials to identify the best places. The government has decided to build memorials to Telangana martyrs as a mark of gratitude towards their sacrifice. An official said, “Every Telanganite should recall the services of martyrs whenever they visit the memorial.”
In accordance with the orders, a team of officials led by revenue divisional officer Vinay Krishna Reddy visited Wyra Road and inspected the site available there. The team, comprising Information and public relations assistant director Venkateswara Prasad, Your Services chief executive officer Ajay Kumar and district tourism officer Suman Chakravarthy, came to an understanding that the place available adjacent to the statue of revolutionary poet Sri Sri on Wyra Road is suitable for building the memorial.
