Telangana govt. taking steps for farm mechanisation, says Etala

The State government is taking all measures for the mechanisation of the farm sector for benefiting the farmers to increase the farm produce, said Minister for Finance and Civil Supplies Etala Rajender here on Tuesday.

Launching the ambitious “Mana Telangana- Mana Vyavasayam” ((farmers awareness programme)) in Gopalpur village of Karimnagar mandal, the Minister said that the government had launched the awareness programmes to increase the produce by adopting modern techniques. He said that the officials would empower the farmers about the importance of soil testing, change of crops, drip irrigation, sprinkler irrigation, etc.

He said that the government had taken up Mission Kakatiya programme for the benefit of farm sector.

ZP chairperson Tula Uma, Karimnagar legislator Gangula Kamalakar, MPP Vasala Ramesh, ZPTC member Srinivas, JD (Agriculture) Narsimha Rao and others were also present.

Nalgonda: Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy launched ‘Mana Telangana Mana Vyavasayam’ at Chinnakaparthi village of Chiytal mandal here on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the agriculture and allied departments staff would conduct a day-long meeting for every two villages located close to each other to sensitise the farmers on various issues related to farming.

To make the agriculture profitable, Mr. Reddy said that the Centre must enhance the MSP of all the agriculture produce following M.S .Swaminathan’s Committee recommendations.

Stating that the TRS government in Telangana took a number of pro-farmer initiatives so far, he said the farmers were being offered up to 90 per cent subsidy on drip irrigation.

Since the farmer can get about 10 times of productivity through polyhouse cultivation when compared to regular cultivation, the Agriculture Minister said that they have also offered huge share of investment as subsidy.

Energy Minister G. Jagadishwar Reddy said that they would soon supply nine hour power supply during day time to agriculture sector since Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was very particular in extending all support to the farmers. Bhongir MP Bura Narasaiah Goud, Nakrekal MLA Vemula Veeresham, Joint Collector N. Satyanarayana, Joint Director Agriculture B. Narasimha Rao and others were present.
