Telangana State Formation Celebrations in Houston a grand success – Goreti Venkanna, Vandemataram Srinivas, Udayabanu embraced the event with Telangana songs.
Greater Houston Telangana Friends Association has organized Telangana State formation celebrations in Houston on June 7th 2014 at Durga Bari Temple Kala bhavan. Popular TV Actress and Anchor Udayabanu, Popular poet and singer Goreti venkanna, Popular Music Director Vandematram Srinivas attended the event and mesmerized the crowd with Telangana folks songs. USA Paduthaa Theeyaga Finalists Singers Manisha and Arjun also entertained the Crowd. Around 1200 people attened the event and the auditorium reverbated with Jai Telangana Slogans.
Event started with Tribute to Amaraveerulu and Professor Jayashankar Sir. Local kids performed Classical dance followed by Anchor Udaya banu taking over the stage. Udayabanu involved audience with games. It was followed by a beautiful song from Vandemataram Srinivas. The show then reached an absolute pinnacle when Goreti Venkanna stepped onto the stage, whose folk songs were enjoyed to the fullest by the audience of all age groups filling in the environment with youthful spirit.
The show also had the support from the chairman of Telangana-JAC Professor Kodandaram garu and the lyricist for Telangana State Anthem, Praja Kavi Dr. Ande Sri garu who sent their special messages for the Houston Telanganites, appreciating the work and support for the new state.
The delicious food served by Mayuri Indian Restaurant and Biryani Pot requires a special mention here. The menu also included the Telangana’s top delicacies like Sakinalu, apart from the other Vegetarian and Non- Vegetarian items. Sound system and Drums were played by Dharshak Takker (Krishna Sounds). A special thanks to V6, Tv5, 6TV and TV9 for taking the event into memoirs.
The show ended with an oath from the Houston Telanganites to support the new state by their contribution in its development.
