Telangana assembly winter session from October 27

The winter session of the Telangana assembly will start from October 27. This was proposed by the state government on Tuesday. The Business Advisory Committee (BAC) will meet on October 26 to decide the duration of the sessions.

Chief minister Sri K. Chandrasekar Rao has put forth a proposal for a month-long session having at least 15 to 20 working days. The government proposals were submitted to assembly secretary Vedantham Narasimhacharyulu. The CM also wanted the Assembly and Council sessions to be concurrent so that public issues can be meaningfully discussed.

The strategy committee chaired by the CM met at Pragathi Bhavan and discussed issues to be taken up during the winter session. CM called for a discussion on measures taken by the government for the protection and preservation of Telugu language. “Treat the forthcoming session as very important. Ministers should prepare statements on key programmes, schemes and projects taken up by the government for people’s welfare,” he said.
