“With lot of confidence and faith, I declare that the strong foundation laid by the State government in the past three and half years would immensely help the State reach the destination of Bangaru Telangana,” the Governor said.
Striking an exuberant note on Telangana State’s progress, Governor E S L Narasimhan on Friday declared that the State had marched ahead in the past three and half years, living up to the expectations of the people, fulfilling their desires and becoming a role model for other States in the country.
“I am confident that given this pace of progress, we will soon reach the destination of Bangaru Telangana,” the Governor said in his address on the occasion of the 69th Republic Day. Earlier, he unfurled the national tricolour at the Parade Grounds and inspected a guard of honour. The Governor and the first lady of the State Vimala Narasimhan were received by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao along with his Cabinet colleagues.
“Exactly three years ago, I delivered the first Republic Day address from the very same dais, and I still remember that occasion when I expressed hope that the TS government would overcome the many impediments and challenges, and would be on the path of progress,” he said.
Observing that the State government had converted every disadvantageous situation to its advantage and planning strategies accordingly to march ahead, the Governor said the government was implementing a plethora of programmes and schemes for the welfare of poor, for development of agriculture sector, for strengthening the rural economy, for infrastructure development, for industrial growth, among other things. “The people are happy receiving the fruits of these programmes and schemes. The people are also contented and confident of a comfortable future,” he said.
“If we observe three and half years of Telangana State’s governance and administrative objectives, it is clear that the government is working on the foundation of basic human values, overall welfare of all sections of the people particularly the downtrodden, coordinating between the technological development and needs of the people, removing social inequalities, protecting the environment, strengthening the rural economy, improving the urban infrastructure and finally marching towards improving the living standards of the people,” he said.
“I can say with conviction that this young State in the country is making rapid strides towards development and to be number one in every aspect. On this Republic day, let us all rededicate ourselves to protect the democratic values,” Narasimhan said.
The Governor, in his elaborate speech, spoke at length about the various developmental programmes and welfare schemes launched by the State government including the 24×7 power supply to the agriculture sector, irrigation projects, farm loan waiver, Farmers’ investment Support Scheme, Kalyana Laxmi and Shaadi Mubarak, Aasara pensions, 2BHK for the poor, KCR kit, TS-iPASS, subsidized sheep distribution to Yadavas and Kurumas, land records purification and the various initiatives in the agriculture sector, among other programmes.
