T good Samaritan to Malaysian manager

The Telangana Tourism department came to the rescue of Younis, manager of Sepak Takraw (kick volleyball) team from Malaysia. The Malaysian team was visiting Hyderabad to participate in Sepak Takraw World Cup.

During their stay at Gachibowli stadium, Younis fell ill and was rushed to Care hospital. Telangana tourism secretary Burra Venkatesham volunteered to bear the expenditure of the treatment. Younis is recovering and the information about the incident was conveyed to the Malaysian embassy.

“Whoever comes to Telangana is our guest and their health and well-being is our top priority. A doctors team led by Dr. Somaraju is treating Younis and he is out of danger. We are ready to bear the medical expense and it has been informed to the Malaysian embassy,“ said Venkatesham. The Malaysian embassy officials are yet to respond on the issue, said the department officials.

Telangana tourism department has been donning the role of a saviour for the tourists visiting the state. In an earlier incident, an American who lost his belongings was offered stay for 10 days. He was given free food and accommodation. In another incident, a woman tourist from Manila was admitted to Apollo hospital after she fell ill on the flight. Another traveller from China, Chen Zin, had also received help from tourism officials for his return trip.
