Chief Minister Mr K Chandrasekhar Rao has taken serious note of the flow of drugs into the State. He directed the officials of police, excise, and others to initiate steps to check the drugs flow into Telangana state.
He wanted the officials to constitute an exclusive cell drawing officials from police and excise among others to make Telangana a drug-free state.
Mr Rao held a meeting with the officials with the chief secretary Mr Somesh Kumar, DGP Mr Mahender Reddy, Hyderabad city police commissioner CV Anand, and others were present.
The chief minister proposed for setting up `Narcotics and Organised Crime Control Cell’ – a counter intelligence cell with 1,000 police personnel to curb the drug menace in Telangana state.
Mr Rao also decided to hold an extensive meeting with the officials on the issue soon.
