Standing as the model by ensuring Open Defecation Free (ODF) in all villages, the Sircilla district ranked first in the four-star category.
This was announced by the Jal Jeevan Mission ministry of the Central government. Those districts securing 75 percent to 100 would be given a four-star rating. The baseline of Sircilla district is ODF plus with 99.53 percent and securing 76.19 percent in delta achievement.
The government selected more villages in the district for rating and found an individual sanitary larine in every household and management of wet and dry garbage and also utilisation of compost.
The Municipal Administration minister Mr K T Rama Rao appreciated the district collector and elected public representatives for their hard work. He also appreciated the people for their cooperation. He said the award is dedicated to all those who were involved in the mission.
The minister wanted the officials and leaders to continue their work and ensure that the Sircilla district secured more laurels in the days to come.
