Senior Congressman VH becomes emotional; accuses Bhatti of vengeance

In an emotional address to the media in Hyderabad on Sunday, V Hanumantha Rao, a senior leader of the Congress party, voiced his grievances, alleging that Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka sought revenge against him.

He said Bhatti is conspiring against him in the issue of Khammam Lok Sabha ticket. Rao emphasized his gratitude towards the Congress Party, acknowledging his rise in politics due to the support of stalwarts like Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi. However, he lamented the lack of recognition in recent years.

Rao asserted that despite his contributions and popularity, he faced opposition within the party, expressing dismay over the treatment meted out to him. Rao urged party leadership, including Rahul Gandhi, to take note of such grievances and ensure justice prevails.

Referring to his efforts in nurturing political careers, Rao claimed to have played a significant role in Bhatti Vikramarka’s political ascent, only to face opposition from him later. He reiterated his commitment to serving the people of Khammam and implementing the ideals of leaders like Rajiv Gandhi.

Rao also raised concerns about the marginalization of backward classes (BCs) in the party’s decision-making processes, questioning the fairness of such practices. He underscored his track record of supporting and promoting leaders within the party, citing the example of YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s elevation to the position of President of the Pradesh Congress Committee.
