The power employees in Telangana will get revised pay scales with 30 per cent fitment. Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao took a decision to this effect on Tuesday.
Besides, revised scales, the power employees who have completed 15 years of service will get three increments and those with below 15 years service will get two increments. The revised scales and increments will be applicable to all the employees working in TSGenco, TSTransco and two Discoms. At a meeting held at the Secretariat on Tuesday with officials concerned and leaders of employees’ unions, the chief minister took the decision to revise the scales with 30 per cent fitment.
As of now, 26,894 employees were working in TSGenco, Transco and Discoms and the government was currently paying Rs 1,233 crore towards their salaries. The government was paying another Rs 583 crore for 19,292 pensioners.
The additional financial burden on the government after the pay revision for employees would be Rs 500 crore and Rs 100 crore for pensioners.
