Energy Minister G. Jagadishwar Reddy launched two-day brain storming session of top officials of TS Transco and TS Genco in Nagarjunasagar on Saturday.
About 40 delegates attended the meeting to discuss the ways to make the State self sufficient in power generation in the coming years.
Speaking to news reporters on the sidelines of the session, Chairman and Managing Director of Transco, D. Prabhakar Rao, said that they have discussed to make the State a power surplus one within four years.
Since Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao wanted to supply round-the-clock power by 2017-18 apart from providing nine-hour power supply to farm sector from coming year, the Chairman and Managing Director said that they wanted to complete all the thermal and hydro projects that are grounded.
“We also discussed the alternative energy source contribution like solar power to meet the demand,” he said. A power point presentation was given by TS Gecnco officials on this occasion.
CMDs of Discoms, directors, and other top officials attended the meeting.
