Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao said that funds would soon be released for the development of Patancheru.
Addressing a gathering after laying the foundation stone for development works worth Rs. 10 crore at Patancheru on Friday, Mr. Harish Rao said that the town had been making huge strides and the government was keen on improving infrastructure.
Saying that the 132 KV sub-station had already been sanctioned at a cost of Rs. 25 crore, he said that the foundation stone for another 220 KV sub-station would be laid shortly.
Adding that 26 tanks were identified under Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits, the Minister said that two tanks – Saki tank and Rayasamudram tank in Patancheru would be developed at a cost of Rs.2 crore each and the foundation stone for them had already been laid. He said that Saki tank would be developed along with a park, which would also have walking, cycling and boating facilities.
Stating that a Bathukamma statue would be established at the centre of the tank with a fountain, he said that the government was ready to release additional amounts if required for the beautification of the tank.
