NIMS will be the country’s biggest hospital: CM KCR

Telangana government has accorded top priority to improving and strengthening the medical and health sector in the state, said chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. Laying the foundation for the new block named ‘Dashabdhi block’ comprising 2000 beds and four wings that offer additional 32 services, he said the budgetary allocation for medical and health in 2014 was Rs. 2,100 crore while in 2023-24, the Telangana government allocated Rs. 12,367 crore.

Four multi-speciality hospitals are coming up on four corners of Hyderabad city, a new mega multispeciality hospital coming up at Warangal city, and full-fledged hospitals in each district are being set up besides renovating and adding new buildings to the existing government hospitals. Every district has a medical college paving the way for producing more medical staff and offering free medical services to the needy nearer to them.

CM also launched the KCR Nutrition kits in all districts simultaneously. “Due to malnutrition one generation will get affected and it will further deteriorate the efficacy of human beings. Hence, every care is taken to ensure the good health of citizens in Telangana state,” he pointed out. Appreciating the efforts of doctors and para-medical staff in the government sector, he wanted them to come up with a proper plan offering quality services round the clock to the needy. “The quest for excellence never ends,” he told the gathering at the foundation laying ceremony. Very soon the Telangana state will become a role model for the country in the medical and health sector too, he said.
