The much-awaited new industrial policy of Telangana government is likely to be announced by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao before the budget session of the Assembly.
The officials concerned are fine-tuning the policy and it will be announced by the end of this month. “After the by-election to the Medak Lok Sabha and before the commencement of the budget session of the Assembly in first week of October, the Chief Minister will announce the industrial policy,” top sources in the Telangana State Industries department told Express on Thursday.
Besides, the officials are also giving touches to the new Act to be enacted in the budget session for single window system and also to set up a chasing cell at Chief Minister’s Office for industries.
“We need to enact a new Act for the single window and chasing cell. Though there was an Act of combined AP State, we cannot adopt the same. We want to leave Telangana stamp on the industries and bring a new Act, which suits the requirements of TS,” an official said.
The Chief Minister decided to introduce a single window system, which is better than the one in Singapore. The Chief Minister recently visited Singapore along with a team of officials and studied the single window system there.
CENTRE IN TOUCH WITH TELANGANA STATE
Sources in the industries department said that the Centre was in touch with the TS government. The Centre recently wrote a letter to the TS asking about the status and progress of industrial promotion. The TS informed the Centre that an Australian firm, NSL Consolidated Limited came forward to invest `1,000 in Karimnagar to start an iron ore project. “We have sent the iron ore project file for the clearance of the Centre,” an official said.
