Hyderabad, September 18 : Communist Party of India state secretary K Narayana on Tuesday demanded that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to withdraw his comments that the Telangana resolution would be defeated if moved in the Assembly due to lack of requisite strength.
Talking to media here, Narayana demanded that the Chief Minister withdraw his remarks immediately as they would hurt the sentiments and aspirations of people and asked him to apologise to the Telangana people. He accused the Chief Minister of insulting the Telangana people and leaders.
If the Chief Minister has any commitment towards Telangana, he asked him to introduce the resolution by asking all parties to issue a whip in this regard. He also came down heavily on Kiran Kumar Reddy for always stating that the decision on Telangana falls under the jurisdiction of the Centre and shirking his responsibility.
He warned Kiran Kumar Reddy of serious consequences if the government lodges police case against Telangana Political Joint Action Committee chairman Prof M Kodandaram for making comments against Civil supplies minister D Sridhar Babu. Narayana said that the CPI would stage agitation demanding pensions for aged on October 2.
