Monthly pension for differently abled hiked to Rs. 4,016; GO issued

The State government has issued orders sanctioning enhanced pensions to differently abled persons from now on. Orders were issued on Saturday increasing pension to Rs. 4,016 from Rs. 3,016. Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao handed over the pensions to some beneficiaries to mark the launch of the revised welfare scheme at Pragathi Bhavan.

No other state government in the country is giving as much pension as the Telangana government is doing. This will benefit 5,16,890 differently abled persons in the state. The ruling BRS government is spending Rs. 2,400 crore towards pensions to differently-abled persons.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has also agreed to proposals for revising the diet charges in all the government hostels.The existing Rs. 950 per month to those studying 3rd to 7th classes has been increased to Rs. 1,200 per month. Those studying 8th to 10th classes will now get Rs. 1,400 per month from the existing Rs. 1,100 per month. Similarly, those studying intermediate to PG courses will get Rs. 1,875 per month from the present Rs 1,500 per month.
