The district administration is taking steps for the construction of a pylon in the city which would be inaugurated by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to mark the launch of the ‘Mission Kakatiya’, an ambitious project of restoring all the tanks and lakes in Telangana.
As a part of this, district collector G Kishan along with engineer-in-chief (ENC), I&CAD, J Vijaya Prakash and local MLA Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar have inspected the sites available at Public Gardens, I&CAD office premises near Kaloji Centre, Fathimanagar and Waddepally tank bund in the city for the construction of the pylon. After the inspection, they felt that the pylon should be constructed either at Waddepally tank bund or the I&CAD office premises, not anywhere else.
ENC Vijaya Prakash said that they would submit the report for land inspection to irrigation minister Harish Rao. “However, the site for pylon will be finalised only after a special meeting with the irrigation minister T Harish Rao and CM K Chandrashekar Rao on Monday in Hyderabad,” said MLA Vinay Bhaskar. A team led by collector inspected the sites for the pylon also. Meanwhile, he directed the officials concerned to prepare and send the proposals to the government for its approval on the construction of the pylon.
