Telangana IT minister Mr K T Rama Rao challenged both the Congress and BJP to come out with a white paper on what they did to farming sector in their respective states or in the country during their regime.
Elated at the Rythu Bandhu celebrations, he sought to know if any government in the country came up with such a scheme to help the poor farmers. Not just one scheme but many more were introduced by the TRS government.
The Rythu Bandhu is a scheme where every farmer gets Rs 10,000 per year per acre and even those belonging to Congress and BJP are also benefitting from it. A total of Rs 50,000 crore was disbursed so far and these celebrations will be extended till Sankranthi festival. The benefit reached farmers in every nook and corner of Telangana.
The Rythu Bheema is another scheme for which the TRS government paid a premium of RS 3,205 crore and so far families of 70,000 farmers benefitted from it.
Speaking to media persons at the party office on Monday, he said despite the Court cases by the Congress and BJP leaders to stall the irrigation projects, the state government successfully completed the stupendous Kaleswaram project and many more are underway.
“The TRS government achieved much in seven years on all fronts that could not be achieved in seven decades by any government in the country,” Mr Rama Rao pointed out.
He said on behalf of 60 lakh party cadre and 65 lakh farmers he heartfully thanks the chief minister Mr K Chandrasekhar Rao for his vision and bold decisions that improved the standard of living of people. People once migrated from Mahbubnagar district are coming back as agriculture became lucrative with the initiatives of state government such as free power, input subsidy, Rythu Bheema, improved irrigation among others.
