IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao has indeed received a great honour by getting invited to speak at a global congress in the United States of America. Today (May 22) around 8 PM IST, Civil Engineers across the US will watch a presentation to be made by KTR on the remarkable transformation Telangana has witnessed in the last nine years.
At the World Environmental and Water Resources Congress to be organized by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), KTR will showcase the success of Telangana’s mega projects like Mission Bhagiratha and Kaleshwaram Project. The Minister will explain how these projects have reshaped the landscape of the state by quenching the thirst of millions and addressing the irrigation needs of lakhs of farmers.
In the conference, KTR will elucidate the benefits and the socio-economic advancement brought by the world’s largest lift irrigation project – Kaleshwaram and also the achievements of Telangana in the irrigation sector.
It has to be recalled that in 2017, at a conference organised by the ASCE in Sacramento, USA, KTR explained in detail about Mission Bhagiratha and the major irrigation projects that are being planned in Telangana. In 2022, the ASCE team visited the Kaleshwaram Project and was amazed by the speedy completion of the project and termed it a game changer. Later, the ASCE officials invited KTR to the US to share the success story of the Kaleshwaram Project.
