Minister KTR to distribute podu land pattas in Mahabubabad district

Minister K T Rama Rao would be distributing land right records to the tribals – podu land pattas in Mahabubabad district on June 30. In the erstwhile Warangal district, there are 1,06,271 acres of forest land that is being cultivated by the tribals and some non-tribals for a long period. They have been urging the state government to give them land right pattas. CM K Chandrasekhar Rao has promised to look into the issue. After constituting the village-level committees and assessing the total land and beneficiaries, it was decided to distribute podu land pattas on June 30.

In Warangal, a total of 39,537 tribals will benefit from the gesture of the state government. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will be distributing the podu land pattas to tribals in Kumrambheem Asifabad district. On the same day, MLAs, Ministers and other elected representatives will distribute land pattas to tribals in their respective districts. The state government has identified 4,05,601 lakh acres of podu land that is earmarked for distribution among the 1,50,012 tribals.

Amidst the demand from tribals on the one hand and objections from the forest department officials on technical and legal grounds for decades, CM KCR has put a full stop to the problem. The tribals are jubilant over the decision of the state government and profusely thanked Mr KCR for his kind gesture.
