KTR had a busy first day on his UK trip

The Telangana IT Minister Mr KTR who is currently on tour to London and Davos to attend a series of meetings was bowled over by the warm welcome extended by the NRIs.

One fan Ashok Dusari bought his Audi car bearing the initials of Mr KTR – TR 51 KTR. The minister profusely thanked them over Twittter.

Later Mr MTR had a busy schedule meeting the prospective investors and succeeded in convincing the UK-based pharma major Surface Measurement Systems that agreed to set up of their Particle Characterisation Laboratory in Hyderabad. The announcement was made after Minister KTR’s meeting with the leadership of Surface Measurement Systems in London.

Spread across 7,000 sqm, the facility will be a state-of-the-art laboratory with a focus on Pharma powder characterisation. The facility will be the World Center of Excellence for powder characterisation for SMS and is slated to attract both global and Indian pharmaceutical customers.

Surface Measurement Systems-  Prof. Daryl Williams, MD, Daniel Villalobos, Global Channel Management & Intl. Sales Manager, Syed Qutubuddin, Director, India Operations in London, UK, Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, IT Dept, and Shakthi Nagappan, Director Telangana State Life Sciences were present.

.Earlier in the day, the minister interacted with representatives of top companies at two round table sessions in London.

He chaired a round table session organized by UK India Business Council in London. Top management representatives from Deloitte, HSBC, JCB, E&Y, Rolls Royce Plc, and others attended the meeting. IT Department Principal Secretary Jayesh Ranjan and British Deputy High Commissioner Dr Andrew Fleming were present.

 

During the session, the Minister introduced the progressive industrial policies of the Telangana Government and also highlighted the investment opportunities in priority sectors like Information Technology, BFSI, Food Processing, Pharma and Life Sciences, Aerospace, and Defence.

Minister KTR also mentioned the availability of land, water, power, and human resources in the State for prospective investors.

The IT Minister Mr KTR also chaired a second round table session jointly organized by UK India Business Council and Tech UK.

Collaboration between the UK and India in the areas of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cleantech, HealthTech, and AgriTech was discussed in the meeting.

During the session, Minister KTR stated that Hyderabad is India’s leading Tech Hub which already houses several marquee companies which are engaged in some cutting-edge technology development.

Minister KTR added that Hyderabad offers great opportunities for SMEs in Emerging Technologies. The Minister mentioned that Telangana State has excellent sectoral policies, unlike any other Indian state.

Minister KTR opined that Tech UK and HYSEA could work together on a bilateral engagement to help SMEs explore opportunities.
