Reiterating that Hyderabad is an integral part of Telangana, the Telangana JAC chairman Prof Kodandaram on Monday sounded a warning to the Centre against any attempt to alter the status of Hyderabad after the bifurcation of State.Participating in a dharna organised by Telangana Electricity Employees (TEE) JAC at Vidyut Soudha here, he said Seemandhra region had many alternative places — Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Rajahmundry, Nellore and Tirupathi to develop a capital city after the State is divided. If Hyderabad was taken away, there would be no place to establish a State capital in Telangana State, he added.
Alleging that Seemandhra leaders were provoking people for their vested interests, he said every Indian citizen has the right to stay in Hyderabad peacefully and perform their duties and business similar to people from Gujarat and Rajasthan states who settled here. The issue of safety of Seemandhra region people in Telangana was being raised by parties for political gains only, he added. [Courtesy: The Hans India]
