Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will lay the foundation stone for Cherlagudem reservoir, which is part of Dindi Lift Irrigation Project, at Marriguda mandal in Nalgonda district on Friday.
He will arrive to Kudabakshapally village of Marriguda in a chopper at 2.55 p.m. Mr. Rao will then proceed to Sivannagudem by road to lay foundation stone for the reservoir.
The Rs.6,500-crore project proposes to supply drinking and irrigation water to Munugode and Deverakonda Assembly constituencies. Irrigation officials said the Cherlagudem, Konduru and Iddampally reservoirs in the district and Arkapally and Charagonda reservoirs in Mahabubnagar will be filled with 30 tmc ft of water from Srisailam.
