TRS supremo KCR is apparently planning to go on indefinite hunger strike once again. Reports on this matter have created a flutter in the political circles. However, no official communication has come out so far. A discussion will be taken today at a crucial meeting in KCR’s residence.
After the police overaction in OU and Nizam College yesterday, which saw scores of students severely injured; KCR was reported to be deeply disturbed. He was also saddened at the apathy of T-congress and T-TDP leaders towards the barbarious acts of police. When the entire Telangana employees are daring the state Government’s attempts to impose ESMA, the Congress and TDP leaders have not even come out openly in their support. On top of it, the indiscriminate lathicharges and teargas shelling has left several students fighting for their lives in hospitals. KCR was also astonished by the news some Seemandhra settlers tried to hang a 7 year old boy near Hayathnagar for raising Telangana slogans.
KCR was of the opinion that, inspite of millions of Telangana people participating in the Sakala Janula Samme, the Central Government has not shown any signs of keeping its statehood promise. Also, he reminded his close associates that his hunger strike has shown positive impact earlier and would definitely get the result this time. A tentative date of October 2nd was decided for this.
However, KCR’s son Tarakarama Rao has requested the party leader not to resort to such an extreme step as his health does not support him.
