Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday assured the Christian community that the government would not tolerate attacks on pastors. He stated that the government would take stern action against those responsible for such attacks.
Speaking at the 36 Greater Hyderabad United Christmas celebrations here he condemned the recent attack on a pastor. He said the government would extend all facilities to Christians in its purview and treat them on a par with Dalits. He announced that the government would issue orders on Friday for construction of a Christian Bhavan with Rs. 10 crore on the lines of Adivasi and Banjara Bhavans sanctioned by the Chief Minister recently.
Foundation stone for construction of Christian Bhavan would also be laid this month, the Chief Minister said adding that two- day holiday would be given on the occasion of Christmas this year . A board for Christians would be constituted, he said adding that the government would also announce January 1 as a holiday.
