Minister KTR delivered the keynote address at an interactive session organised by Society For Indian Defence Manufacturers and Confederation of Indian Industry in New Delhi.
He spoke about the robust Aerospace and Defence ecosystem in Telangana, global players who have their production and export facilities in the State.
Minister informed the gathering that that the Hyderabad’s Aerospace ecosystem is ranked number one globally in Cost Effectiveness by Financial Time’s FDI Future Aerospace Cities Rankings 2020-21.
Added that Hyderabad is known as the missile hub of India and has been the leading manufacturing and research hub for the Defence industry since early 1960s. Besides an Ordnance factory, the city hosts DRDO labs, BDL, HAL, ECIL, among others. Over 1000 MSMEs cater to the sector.
The Minister detailed on the investment opportunities in the Aerospace and Defence Sector in State. Stated that Telangana Govt. has identified it as a major thrust sector under the Industrial policy.
Dedicated Aerospace & Defence parks are developed near airport, Minister added.
Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, I&C Dept., Sanjay Jaju, OSD GoT., E. Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, Special Secretary, I&C Dept., Praveen PA, Director, Aerospace and Defence, Satish K Kaura, Founder Member Society For Indian Defence Manufacturers and others were present.
