Hyderabad city police have taken stringent action against four persons who destroyed the property of Global Hospital, Lakdikapul, on Monday night.
“A woman identified as Shameem Begum (45) of Santoshnagar was admitted to the Global Hospital for interstitial lung disease and lung infection on December 18. During the treatment, she was diagnosed with swine flu. But on Monday her condition worsened and she was not responding to the treatment and she suffered a cardiac arrest resulting in her death,” the police officials said quoting the hospital authorities.
Agitated by the death of Shameem Begum, her sons, Mir Mohiuddin Ali Khan, Barkat Ali Khan, and Mustafa Ali Khan went on a rampage, breaking furniture and beating up the security guards of the hospital.
The attackers also manhandled the police constables who reached the spot to control the situation. Later, police booked cases against the attackers.
The police registered cases against four persons Mohiuddin Ali Khan (31), Mir Barkat Ali Khan (29), Mir Mustafa Ali Khan (18) and Mohsin and others under Sections 148, 324,332, 427 and 149 of Indian Penal Code and Section 4 of Telangana Medicare Service and Medicare Service Institutions (Prevention of Violence and Damage to Property) Act 2008.
For the first time, the Hyderabad city police invoked provisions of the Telangana Medicare Service Persons and Medicare Institutions Act 2008.
