With the summer hotting up and power consumption likely to go up, the state government on Thursday stepped in to ensure uninterrupted power supply to consumers and released Rs 350 crore for purchase of additional power from all available sources.
Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao reviewed the power situation in the state with Telangana state Genco and Transco chairman and managing director D Prabhakar Rao here on Thursday. Rao directed the CMD to ensure uninterrupted power supply to all the consumers in the state. He asked the power official to procure power from Kayamkulam in Kerala and other sources. It is likely that Transco will purchase 500 MW of power from Kayamkulam in the next four days.
