Home minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy has said that the state government had on Friday lifted 483 cases against employees, filed against them during the Telangana statehood movement.
Speaking to newsmen here on Friday, the minister said till date a total of 1,033 cases have been lifted pending against employees. Earlier, 550 cases have been withdrawn, he added. When asked about the allegations of the Opposition that only petty cases were withdrawn and nothing was done about the major charges, he said, ‘‘The government will lift all cases. If there is such a complaint we will attend to it. The DGP has already sent us a list of cases pending against Telangana protagonists in each district. We will examine them.”
According to him, the following are the number of cases lifted on Friday: West Zone (39), East Zone (126), South Zone (6), North Zone (25), Central Zone (50), Central Crime Station (CCS Hyderabad) (39), Warangal Urban (39) and Khammam (39).
Meanwhile, the minister accused the AP government of siphoning off total money from the AP Labour Welfare Board, Hyderabad without dividing the total fund in the ratio mandated by the AP Reorganisation Act 2014 between Telangana and AP. Andhra Pradesh Building and Other Constructions’ Welfare Board has cash reserves of ` 1,400.83 crore, he said.
