With the availability of Light Detection And Ranging (LIDAR) survey report, the irrigation department has started giving finishing touches to the proposed irrigation policy of the state.
At a review meeting on irrigation projects held with the officials concerned here on Thursday, chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao said, “As the LIDAR survey report is in hand, prepare the plan and go ahead with early completion of projects.”
The chief minister said the redesigning of the irrigation projects too was almost complete and wanted the officials to expedite the construction of projects. “Simplify the procedure for payments for land acquisition and payment of bills,” he told the officials.
“The government is buying land from farmers for construction of irrigation projects. This will reduce delays in the construction of projects,” he added. Rao also decided that payments to contractors be made immediately after the project works were executed.
