Good news for book lovers in Hyderabad

 

 

 

The 34th edition of Hyderabad Book Exhibition will be held from December 18 to 28 at NTR stadium near Indira Park. Excise and Tourism Minister V. Srinivas Goud will inaugurate the book fair at 11 am today.

The Hyderabad book fair was not held last year due to the corona pandemic.
About 300 stalls would be put up by publishers from across the country. Thousands of people throng the place that wears a festive look with literary activities and visits of popular persons. The venue is christened as Kala Bharati.

The TRS government has been patronizing the event in a big way extending all kinds of support. It would be open between 2 30 and 8.30 pm. On Saturday and Sunday it will be open from 12.30 to 9 pm. About five to seven lakh people are expected to visit the book exhibition.

Book lovers have been waiting for the event and heaved a sigh of relief with the announcement of the schedule. A resident of Baghlingampally, Mr Chandra Ponnala was excited at the news and said it is a virtual festival for the book lovers. One could spend the whole time there seeing and picking the best books. He said he was disappointed last year as the event was put off due to the corona pandemic.

According to him, he gets to meet many people there and have fruitful debates on literary topics and also relish lip smacking fast food at the venue.
