Light Auto GmbH, a German company, has come forward to invest Rs 1500 crore in Telangana. The agreement was signed in the presence of German Ambassador Walter J. Lindner, Minister of IT and Environment Mr KTR. These investments will provide direct employment to about 9,000 people and indirect employment to 18,000 people. The company manufactures components for cars, commercial vehicles and two-wheelers. The decision was taken at the German Investors Summit held at the Taj Krishna Hotel in Hyderabad on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, Minister KTR said that the Telangana government is inviting German investments. The state will provide the necessary infrastructure for the establishment of industries. He noted that the procedures adopted by Germany for setting up industries were good. KTR made it clear that small-scale industries are contributing to our GDP growth. Telanagana has defense labs, aerospace industries and research centers. He said that permits are being issued to industries within 15 days of application under the single window procedure. He said that there is no such law in America as the TSiPass. KTR said 17,500 companies have been cleared through TS iPass so far.
