Binny Bansal, COO & Co-founder, Flipkart, said, “We are excited to open our largest fulfilment centre in Telangana. The State offers a conducive environment for e-commerce companies, which has largely supported the installation of this hi-tech facility.”

Flipkart also said it will invest more than $500 million in a nationwide fulfilment network and it is in talks with state governments for the same.

The centre is the e-commerce company’s 17 fulfilment centre in the country and through this it intends to introduce more innovation in the area of logistics using technology.

“The centre offers capabilities that have been designed to provide easy access to e-commerce services for sellers, while providing faster and seamless services to customers,” added the company.

Located in Gundlapochampally, the centre is spread across 220,000 sq. ft and holds a storage capacity of 589,000 cubic ft. Through the centre Flipkart will address the critical supply chain challenges arising from the increasing consumer demands in the e-commerce space in Hyderabad and its surrounding areas.

With the launch of the new facility, Flipkart will fulfill the needs not only of its customers, but also the community by creating more than 17,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities within the area.

Mr. Bansal said, “With the addition of this fulfilment centre, we are more confident on offering consumers across the nation a hassle-free and reliable online shopping experience, even offline on the delivery front.”
