Do not force Hindi on people: KTR tells PM Modi

Objecting to the central government’s decision to introduce Hindi medium in IIT and NITs, the TRS working president and IT minister Mr KTR has written a letter to the Prime minister. He said such decision would badly affect students who pursued their education in their mother tongue.

The central government and its 20 institutions are carrying recruitment tests only in Hindi and English languages denying the rural students of jobs. The minister reminded that earlier CM KCR too wrote a letter to Modi in this connection.

The Amit Shah committee should withdraw its recommendations immediately. Forcing Hindi language takes away the equal opportunities guaranteed by the constitution, he said. Mr KTR said it was not proprietary to make the language must where only 40 percent speak.

The constitution has recognised 22 languages in the country. The Indian youth were working in large numbers in global companies because of the English language. The minister also pointed out that the decision will create differences among people as north and south have different cultural backgrounds and traditions.

The article 345 says the official language is an issue of states and not the centre. He advised the BJP leaders to stop dividing people and focus development particularly provide jobs to youth.
