In a shocking incident that happened within the premises of the Telangana Secretariat, Mynampally Rohith, a first-time MLA from the ruling party manhandled, threatened and heckled a senior journalist named Siddireddy Srinivas Reddy. The incident which happened on Monday in the presence of several other journalists in the lobby of Telangana Secretariat has sent shockwaves in the media fraternity.
Apparently, the young Congress MLA was irked by some comments made by journalist Srinivas Reddy during a recent television debate. Keeping those comments in mind, the young MLA manhandled the journalist not once but twice in the secretariat. Once in the presence of other journalists and second time when Srinivas Reddy was alone.
The most appalling part is that CM Revanth Reddy was present in the Secretariat when this blatant act occurred. Even the henchmen of the MLA too threatened the journalist in the parking lot when he was about to leave.
This deplorable incident highlights the sad state of affairs and politics of intimidation unfolding in Telangana.
