The meeting that was convened by the Congress party BC wing to unite the BCs has ended abruptly exposing the disunity within the party. The Adilabad district party committee conducted the meeting on Monday. Senior leader V Hanumantha Rao and DCC president Sajid Khan and TPCC general secretary Sujatha attended the meeting as guests.
As the meeting progressed, party leader Kandi Srinivas Reddy, who recently joined the party ditching BJP came to the meeting venue with a large number of his followers. He tried to show his strength and his followers raised loud slogans hailing him.
Perplexed at his displeasing entry, those already present at the venue asked him to go away. However, unrelenting followers of the leaders got into a scuffle with those present at the meeting.
Despite pleas from V Hanumantha Rao to leave the venue, they continued creating ugly scenes. When Hanumantha Rao alighted the dias to scout them away, Kandi Srinivas Reddy and his followers left the spot. Meanwhile, accusing Kandi Srinivas Reddy of creating a nuisance within the party, DCC president Sajid Khan said the district committee has taken a decision to suspend him from the party. The party high command should approve the decision of the DCC else they are ready to leave the Congress party forthwith, he warned.
