Pushed to a wall by the TRS party, Congress has pulled out its favorite trick – unleash CBI inquiry on KCR. But, this half-baked idea backfired miserably, as the CBI has refused to start any investigation on KCR.
Yesterday, acting on a petition by a lawyer, the Principal Special Court for CBI Cases has directed the CBI to probe the allegations on KCR, Harish Rao and Vijaya Shanti.
But within hours after the CBI court gave these orders, top bosses of CBI in New Delhi rejected the orders saying that the lower court cannot order CBI to conduct probes.
A few months back, this same lawyer had filed a similar petition in High court, which was summarily rejected.
It is clear that the CBI case drama is only to divert the attention of Telangana people at this crucial juncture.
As per CBI manual, the agency can be ordered only by High Courts, Supreme Court or State Governments.
Lower courts do not have jurisdiction over CBI, and the judge who passed yesterday’s orders would know that for sure.
The real intention of Seemandhra lobby is not to do some investigation on KCR, they know for sure that nothing would come out of such an investigation.
Their intention is to tarnish the image of KCR just before the elections.
The Seemandhra media, as usual went on a overdrive. The national media followed suite. No media house talked about the CBI’s refusal to act on these meaningless orders.
But, unlike YS Jagan and Chandra Babu Naidu, who fought tooth and nail against the court orders to probe their disproportionate assets, KCR has welcomed the court orders. He said the state and central governments can conduct as many probes as they want.
