Telangana activists obstructed Chief Minister Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy’s program in Gadwal yesterday. The CM, who came to Mahabubnagar district to inaugurate the Raji Yuva Kiranalu – an employment scheme, was greeted with “Jai Telangana” slogans at several places.
Reacting to the sloganeering at his meeting, Kiran Kumar Reddy said the Union government would take a decision on the Telangana issue within 2-3 months.
The district police department had already arrested thousands of Telangana activists and JAC members as a preventive measure. Only girl students were permitted into the CM’s meeting.
In spite of taking so many precautions, hundreds of students and JAC members protested across the CM’s route. Some students managed to enter the meeting venue and raised “Jai Telangana” slogans when the Chief Minister was speaking.
