Chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao has announced the blueprint for the coming years in the Assembly on his flagship programmes.
According to the plans, the state government will fill one lakh odd jobs in this present term of the government, construct one lakh double bedroom houses in this year and provide irrigation water to one crore acres in the next five years. The CM also announced that the pending fee reimbursement dues to the tune of Rs 2,800 crore would be cleared in April and from April onwards, the fee reimbursement dues would be cleared on a monthly or quarterly basis.
Replying to a debate on the Telangana Appropriation Bill, which the House adopted with a voice vote at the end of the debate, Rao spoke at length on various plans of the government.
One Lakh Jobs: Once the Kamalanathan Committee divides the staff between AP and TS, the government will know the exact number of vacancies. We will fill around one lakh jobs in this present term. Already, notifications for around 24,000 jobs were issued and the recruitment process is going on. Under DSC another 10,000 teacher posts will be filled up.
Water to One Crore Acres: The government is prepared to spend Rs 1.4 lakh crore to Rs 1.5 lakh crore on irrigation projects to provide water to one crore acres.
Buoyancy of Economy: The state economy is in good shape. The state’s own revenue (SOR) growth is around 15 per cent. The debts of TS, when compared to other states, are very low. The debts of the state is just 16.1 per cent of the GSDP.
