CM KCR’s birthday declared as Farmers’ Day

The Telangana Department of Agriculture has decided to celebrate Farmers’ Day on February 17, the birthday of chief minister Mr K Chandrasekhar Rao.

Panchayat Raj minister Mr Errabelli Dayakar Rao and Rythu Bandhu Samithi chairman MLC Palla Rajeswar Reddy said the TRS party has decided to organise celebrations on February 15,16 and 17 on eve of Mr KCR’s birthday.

It was Mr KCR who succeeded in fulfilling the six-decade-long aspiration of people for a separate Telangana state after a prolonged non-violent agitation. During the past seven years of his rule, he had introduced several welfare schemes for the poor and needy. He also delivered many promises such as free power, irrigation water, and financial assistance to the farmers.

The TRS government in the state is providing free 24-hour quality power to 30 lakh motors, provided Rythu Bheema to 72,000 families of deceased farmers, and extended financial assistance under Rythu Bandhu to 65 lakh farmers. “Under the Rythu Bandhu, so far Rs 50,000 crore were distributed to farmers holding 1.50 lakh acres in Telangana state,” they said.

It was decided to honour the ideal farmers by local Rythu Samithi committees on February 17.

The TRS party workers are asked to distribute food at hospitals and orphanages on February 15; conduct blood donation camps on February 16 and conduct all religious prayer meetings and plant trees on February 17 as gratitude to the visionary chief minister Mr Chandrasekhar Rao.
