Amid Vedic chantings and special rituals, the renovated Sri Laxminarasimha Swamy temple at Yadadri was re-dedicated to people by chief minister Mr KCR on Monday.
The chief minister took part in Maha Kumbha Samprokoshana of Vimana Gopuram and later offer first prayers at Sanctum Sanctorum. Scores of ruling TRS party leaders and ministers took part in the rituals.
The temple was neglected for a long time. It was after Mr KCR became chief minister, he took up its development prestigiously and sanctioned Rs 2000 crore. The temple that was spread in just one and a half acres is now having 850 acres – a new temple city was beautifully planned and executed.
The temple now has all the modern facilities including cottages for the pilgrims visiting it.
The very face of the Yadadri hillock was transformed and it was made into a grand spiritual centre. Now as many as 60,000 people could visit per day. The temple authorities were expecting 8,000 people per day on normal days and during holidays, about 40,000 may visit the temple.
Chief minister Mr KCR personally supervised and reviewed work frequently since it was decided to develop the place in 2016. According to him, the temple would be the pride of Telangana and will soon earn public patronage.
