CM KCR pays rich tributes to poet Dasaradhi Krishnamacharya on his birth anniversary

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao paid rich tributes to the poet Dasaradhi Krishnamacharya on his birth anniversary and described him as a great poet of Telangana. Mr Dasarathi belonged to first-generation Telangana poets who waged a war against the then tyrannical Nizam regime. He took part in the Telangana armed struggle and galvanised people with his poems. He proved his proficiency in Telugu, Urdu and English languages and enriched the language and literature with his experiments.

Mr KCR said Dasaradhi’s famous line “Na Telangana Koti Ratanala Veena” eulogising Telangana land as a gem formed the basis of BRS administration. The state government has instituted an award in his name to celebrate his life and works and to perpetuate his memories. The government also decided to celebrate his Jayanthi officially.

The CM said it was pertinent to remember that Dasaradhi award for the year 2023 went to another great Sanskrit and Telugu poet Mr Ayachitham Nateswara Sharma. “Mr Dasaradhi’s spirit is behind us and in our efforts to achieve progress in Telangana state,” Mr KCR said.
