Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has sanctioned rupees five crores for the revival and renovation of Kannada Sahitya Mandira located at Kachiguda. Over the years, it lost public patronage and there were dismal activities.
On coming to know the pathetic situation, the chief minister advised local MLA Kaleru Venkatesh and officials to take up immediate renovation of the structure. He wanted them to build a good auditorium that could be used for the literary, cultural, and community needs of Kannadigas.
Mr KCR said the Telangana government would extend the same support and encourage the literary and cultural activities of people of other states who came here and settled for decades. Hyderabad is known for its unity in diversity and the best example of `Ganga Jamuna Tehjeeb’, he said.
