Telangana Chief Minister Mr K Chandrasekhar Rao said his demand for review of Constitution is well thought out and one need not doubt his intentions.
Stating that the so called dalit organisations have nothing to do with it, he said indeed the dalit population increased and they should get increased reservation.
The Central government has been usurping the powers of states and there have been committees on centre state relations, but none heeded. The institution of Governor is being misused by the Central government. There are problems with Governors in Tamilnadu, West Bengal and in other states as they are being dictated by the Central government. They are forced act against the elected government in respective states.
The BJP came to power in several states like Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and others without securing clear mandate from the people. They just overthrew the elected governments there.
The Central government trying to favour select industrialists is pursuing a new power policy. It was forcing the states to implement the same even without being passed in Parliament.
“I can say hundred reasons for my argument. What did I asked for? I only wanted that let there be a debate on review of Constitution,” Mr Chandrasekhar Rao said.
Indeed, the chairman of Constitution drafting committee Mr Ambedkar himself wanted that Constitution should be progressive and those who failed to implement it should go.
There are several countries across the globe which reviewed or brought in new constitution as and when the situation demanded. Same should happen in India too.
In the name of Constitution, those in power should not misrule the country and go against the interests of people, he pointed out.
