CM KCR asks Cabinet Sub-Committee members to resolve RTC strike

As the strike by public sector road transport utility enters the sixth day today, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao has asked the members of Cabinet Sub-Committee to take measures to resolve the issue.

The Road Transport Corporation (RTC) has a fleet of over 20,000 buses, making it one of the the biggest public sector transport utilities in the world. The public utility is yet to be bifurcated between the two States.

He held a review meeting here on Monday with the Sub-Committee Chairman and Home Minister Nayini Narasimha Reddy and members E Rajender (Finance Minister) and P Mahender Reddy (Transport Minister).

The striking employees in both the States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have been demanding a salary fitment of 43 per cent on par with the Government employees.
