CM KCR announces May Day gift to sanitation workers in the state

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has announced a salary rise of Rs. 1,000 per month for all the sanitation workers in the state on the eve of May Day. This move will benefit as many as 1,06,474 sanitation workers employed in GHMC, Water Works, Municipal corporations, municipalities and Gram panchayats across the state.

“From now they will all get Rs 1,000 more salary in addition to the existing and this will come into effect immediately,” KCR said. He said with the slogan and spirit of ‘safai anna neeku salaam anna’, this government is recognizing their services and committed to their welfare.

The chief minister said the role of sanitation workers is immense in ensuring cleanliness in villages, towns and cities. The Telangana state won many awards and rewards and this government never forgets the sacrifices and committed services of the sanitation workers. “This government treats them as partners in development and never goes back to help them anytime,” Mr KCR said.

It may be noted that the chief minister KCR and municipal administration minister Mr KTR lauded the efforts of sanitation workers during the COVID19 pandemic. The Gram Panchayats and municipalities were adjudged as the best in sanitation by the central government. It was all possible due the services of field level staff and Mr KTR acknowledged their services several times.

The sanitation workers thanked the CM KCR for his sudden and kind gesture and promised to live upto the expectations of the state government.
