Chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao has been invited to attend the annual meeting of Switzerland-based World Economic Forum, named New Champions 2015, to be held in Dalian, China from September 9 to 11.
The invitation was extended to the CM by the managing director of World Economic Forum, Phillip Rosier. The meeting will be organised in collaboration with the Chinese government.
In his invitation, Phillip Rosier mentioned that given the unique challenging task of administering inclusive growth in India newly formed state of Telangana, Rao’s views will add great value to the conversations on infrastructure development, urbanisation and innovation led development.
The CM has been requested to bring a business delegation of non-forum member companies to actively participate in the deliberations.
As the foremost global meeting on innovation, science and technology, the proposed annual meeting World Economic Forum convenes the next generation of fast growing enterprises shaping the future of business and society and leaders from major multinationals, government, media, academia and civil society. More than 1500 participants will meet to address current unprecedented set of intertwined global challenges.
The world Economic Forum that is now officially recognised as an International Institution for public – private cooperation, felt that the contributions of the CM to the high level discussions are highly anticipated as they will help advance understanding around how technology and innovation will shape inclusive, sustainable and economic value.
The Forum requested for Rao’s personal agenda for the meet that provides maximum impact for the CM.
“The schemes and programs as well as welfare measures being implemented in the state caught the attention of many. Invitations are pouring in from several international organisations, requesting the CM to visit their country. And the invitation from World Economic Forum is one of them,” an official release from the CMO said.
