Centre trying to privatise public distribution system: CM KCR

Telangana CM Mr KCR has said the centre was trying to privatize the public distribution system and do away with food subsidy. The centre has reportedly asked Niti Ayaog to suggest ways and means.

Modi’s friend Adani gets seven airports and poor are denied even food subsidies in the country. With national food security, 75 percent of rural and 50 percent of urban people get benefits. Now the central government is hatching a conspiracy to do away with the benefit.

The Modi government has cut subsidies on various schemes by Rs 1.5 lakh crores. The centre should pay Rs. 90,000 crores to the Food Corporation of India for food procurement. It has become a burden to FCI and weakening the institution is another game plan by the BJP government.

In the hunger index the country came lowest compared to the neighboring countries and it is very disturbing to see the centre doing away with the food subsidies to the poor.
