BRS condemns arrest of Delhi deputy CM Manish Sisodia

Condemning the arrest of Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, the Telangana IT minister Mr K T Rama Rao said BJP is coward and playing cheap politics. In a statement, the BRS working president said BJP wants to usurp power through backdoor methods.

The BJP leaders were unable to digest the defeat in the recent Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) after being reprimanded by the Supreme Court. The arrest of Mr Sisodia is nothing but terrorising the Opposition parties, he said.

Using the central government agencies, the BJP was trying to weaken the other political parties and by hook or crook trying to tame the opposition leaders. “The BJP posed a great threat to the democracy in the country and I am sure people will definitely teach a fitting lesson to the party. The BJP leaders too will meet the same fate as they doing to other leaders now,” Mr Rama Rao opined.

Finance minister T Harish Rao describing the arrest of Mr Sisodia as undemocratic said the BJP was unable to face the opposition parties and their public patronage. People are rejecting the BJP and now it is unable to stomach the worst defeat in the country’s capital Delhi municipal elections. “The country has witnessed the BJP’s cheap tricks and how it behaved in Delhi municipal elections. It is not ready to accept the defeat and ascent of AAP. Hence it implicated Mr Sisodia in a liquor scandal and arrested him,” he said.
