On this day – December 9, 2009, following the fast unto death by Mr KCR, the Central government came down and announced the formation of statehood to the Telangana region. Today, on the same day, the TRS party that espoused the cause of separate Telangana and successfully achieved under the stewardship of Mr KCR is going national.
Election Commission of India (ECI) has formally accepted the TRS party’s request for a change of name of the party – Telangana Rashtra Samithi to Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). Mr KCR would be formally sending his response to the ECI at the auspicious time of 1.20 pm on Friday amid much fanfare and jubilations at Telangana Bhavan, the party office in Hyderabad.
The TRS supremo and chief minister Mr KCR has asked all the MLAs, MPs, MLCs and party state committee to be present at the party office. He is likely to spell out the future course of action and how and what role the BRS plans to play in national politics. He would be unveiling the new party flag.
Mr KCR has been articulating for quite some time how the natural resources were underutilised in the country and how the political parties lacked proper vision and policy.
